About Audumbara

The Meaning of Audumbara

Audumbara refers to the sacred fig tree. It also refers to a place in Maharashtra, on the banks of the River Krishna, associated with the second manifestation of Lord Dattatreya, Sri Guru Narasimha Saraswathi. During His physical incarnation, Sri Guru spent several years there and is believed to continue His eternal presence in a subtle form.

Audumbara is a humble offering born of Sri Guru’s grace, rooted in Bhakti and the ancient wisdom proclaimed in our Shastras. We offer consultations, guidance and classes to seekers, devotees and all those who wish to receive this knowledge.

Like the shade of a fruit-bearing tree, may Audumbara offer solace amid the uncertainties of worldly life.

Founder

The Tradition Behind the Platform

Surya Kiran Sastri

Surya Kiran Sastri comes from the sacred lineage of Sri Venkavadhani of Malyadripuram. He is a disciple of Sri Krishna Bhikshu of Guntur and received training in astrological science from his paternal grandfather, Brahmasri Panchagnula Gangadhara Sastry, and his maternal grandfather, Malladi Neelakanta Sastry, of the Sreedhara Avadhani lineage of Malyadripuram Agraharam.

A graduate in Political Science, he has also studied Agama Shastras and offers guidance and classes in Yoga, Sanskrit and astrological science.

At the request of those who have benefited from his guidance, this platform is being established to transmit ancient knowledge to genuine seekers. What was once shared freely is now being organised into a learning platform, with modest fees that will contribute towards the vision of our Vedic Village.

Our Vision

A Vision for the Future

The Vedic Village is a vision of conscious living, ecological farming and a life rooted in harmony with nature.

We hope to inspire younger generations to learn, preserve and recite Vedic chants, allowing this timeless tradition to become a living part of the world we inhabit — making it more meaningful and fruitful for those who come after us.

A humble invitation to genuine seekers
